A focused AI assistant built for a real curriculum-development problem: an instructional designer needed useful context, but the information was hard to get from the person who held it.

A nursing-curriculum support chatbot for objectives, learning content, Canvas activities, and original NCLEX-PN-style assessment items. It uses Texas BON, NCLEX-PN, clinical judgment, QSEN, and local curriculum-design context as part of the working frame.

This is a curriculum development support tool. Faculty, program director, and subject-matter validation are still required before using any generated content in a course.

What was happening

The problem was not that the instructional designer could not do the work. The problem was that the useful source context was difficult to access. That creates a familiar bottleneck: the person building the course needs enough information to move, but the information arrives slowly, unevenly, or not in the form the work requires.

What I built

I built a focused chatbot that gives the designer a better starting point. It can help draft and review objectives, shape learning content, think through Canvas activities, and create original NCLEX-PN-style items. The point is not to make the final academic judgment. The point is to help the designer ask better questions, generate useful first drafts, and keep the work moving until expert review can happen.

My role

I identified the workflow problem, shaped the assistant around the actual curriculum-development tasks, wrote the working frame and guardrails, and kept the tool positioned as support for professional judgment rather than a replacement for it. That boundary matters. In education work, a faster draft is only useful if people still know who is responsible for the final decision.
